For application
areas that are not highly stressed by heavy loads or vehicle traffic
and where the ground is not likely to be unstable, the choice of paver
model and design will solely be based on aesthetics, since the self-locking
properties of any concrete work will be sufficient to keep it in place.
Pavers with a 60 mm thickness are recommended for these applications. |

| Polymer sands ? | |
Polymer
sands harden after being watered and prevent weeds from growing, as well
as bug infiltrations. It also has the advantage of keeping the sand in
place, which is ideal for pool edges and slope entrances. |
|
| Efflorescence ? | |
Efflorescence,
or bloom, is a white crystal deposit that can appear on concrete surfaces.
It does not compromise the effectiveness of pavers and will disappear
over time under adverse weather conditions. |
|
| Concrete paver maintenance ? | |
It
is critical to use products specifically designed for paver maintenance.
The use of hydrochloric acid is not recommended as it bleaches the pavers.
As well, the use of gasoline or Varsol to wash oil stains is not recommended.
These products will only dissolve the oil, which will then penetrate
the pavers and become even more difficult to wash off. |
|
| Paver sealer ? | |
Using
a sealer is optional since all pavers are under warranty against any
deterioration due to de-icing salt. |
